Breaking.... SISTER E IS DEAD . ..
The media wave this evening received with the rudest shock the sad news of the vivacious Sister E, a golden voice behind the microphone.
Until her death, Sister E as fondly called is the Director General of Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC/ORIENT FM AND TV).
Evangelist Esther Obon Egbunna, popular called "Sister E" is a professional renowned News Caster per excellence .
According to report, the News Presenter of international reputation and a bug masquerade in the Air Waves kicked the bucket at the early hours of today being Friday 10th June, 2016 in her house, after she slumped.
The Quintessential On_ Air_Personality (O.A.P),
Evang. Mrs Esther Egbuna (nee Obong) aka "Sister Eee" had over her childhood years yearned to be a broadcaster.
On graduation from the University of Calabar in 1990, she did her National Youth Service at the Imo Broadcasting Corporation, IBC Owerri.
During the period, she had voice and programming trainings, paired with
FM broadcasters and presented several
programmes and News bulletins.
Having secured herself a space on the broadcasting World , Sister E decided to make it her career and as well extolled the virtues of the National Youth Service Corps.
'Sister Eee' as she is fondly called by her
friends and fans, sought and obtained the
permission of the NYSC to turn her efforts to the IBC but not before her unique attempt on the national plane of broadcasting was officially acknowledged.
Esther Obong Egbuna is one of the outstanding generals in the broadcasting industry, aided by several professional courses organised by the
National Broadcasting Corporation.
Encouraged by her mentor and late husband, Dr. Chike Egbuna aka "Mr. Soul", an Ace BBC Broadcaster and one time Director General of the IBC, her teeming listeners and even the Broadcasting Service of her native state, Akwa Ibom, she has gone to greater heights and made an enviable
career out of the exciting profession.
Still filled with the zeal to make a difference in the broadcast industry, Sister Eee, though the Manager of Orient FM channel, still devoted most of her time to present programmes on air.
Her cherished programmes include: "Sister Eee's Diary", "Gospel Train"- a soul-winning religious programme, as well as a phone-in programme "Dial-a-Solution".
With the coming of democracy in 1999, Sister Eee conceptualized and introduced "To Whom it May Concern" a daily phone-in programme to spread the ethical re-orientation policy and generally the Tripod Vision of the then government of Governor Achike Udenwa.
The programme is presently renamed "Matters Arising". She later introduced "Conversations With Imo People" an interactive accountability
programme on radio on which government officials give account of their stewardship to the populace. She currently hosts "Let's Talk", another accountability programme still running on the Orient FM channel.
In addition to her numerous awards in
recognition of her developmental efforts, Evang. Esther Obong Egbuna was for many years the Manager, IBC Orient FM and currently as the Ag. Director General of the Corporation, she still finds
time to present programmes and read news on IBC Orient FM and Television.
She is also the Vision Bearer of the interdenominational Praise
Worship Fellowship International (PWFI) and a trainer at the IBC Presentation Clinic/Training School.
She will be greatly missed by her numerous fans and the Society at large for her immeasurable contributions towards building a virile Society and strengthening of our democracy. Her immense efforts towards good governance and bridging the gap between the government and the governed Can never be quantified.
May her soul rest in peace.
