Senator Iyabo Anisulowo rescued from kidnappers


Abducted former Minister of State for Education and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, has been rescued.
Senator Anisulowo was kidnapped alongside her security aide in Igbogila area of Ogun state last Thursday.
Her abductors asked the family to pay a ransom of N200 million.
The kidnappers contacted the family via phone on Friday night and said payment should be made without delay or the captor would not be set free.
It is not clear if the ransom was paid before she regained freedom.
Iyabo Veronica Anishulowo (née Ajibogun) is a Nigerian educator and elder stateswoman who served the Federal Government of Nigeria at many levels, she is one of the most prominent female political personalities and proponents of gender equality in Africa. She rose through the ranks from grass root level as a teacher to serve as a Federal Minister and Senator.
The product of a moderate background, Iyabo Anisulowo is described a Liberal Conservative because of her pro-family values and feminine independence through universal quality education stance when she served in the
Senate , she is an 'Afropolitan Feminist'.
