Addressing Government House press crew, the Chief of Staff informed that the essence of the meeting was to advice the Parastatals on the ways to increase their IGR. According to him, the need to improve on the IGR can never be over emphasized considering the Economic situation in the Country.
Chief Nwosu stated that if the Parastatals are living up to expectations as cash cows of the Government, it will go a long way in cushioning the effects of the crunched economy in the State.
Speaking further, the Chief of Staff who recently won the global excellence Award informed that some Parastatals in the State like Orient Fm /TV, Imo Entraco,ADP, Imo Water Board , have the capacity to generate high volume of income to feed other Parastatals that are not money making Agencies like the Library .
The Labour led by the State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Chilakpu also notified the Imo State Government through the Chief of Staff, some of the challenges they are facing. These include Office and Office equipment, operation vehicles etc.
The Chief of Staff, Imo State Government House, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu asked them to go and make comprehensive list of what they need, assuring them of addressing the needs adequately.
Finally, he charged them to go and generates revenue as directed which is in line with the operation principle on which they were establishments.
